A machine that could allow the Owls to break "The Loop". This is what I think leads to the creation of the "Hex Machine". It is a popular adage that states "whatever can go wrong, will go wrong." ('s_law).
I believe this is a reference to what we know as Murphy's Law in the real world. This is what I think is the great discovery the Owls made and it is referred in the world of Owlboy as "The Loop". He also said that no matter how many parameters he changed in his equation, he could not change the outcome that was his own death. Because, if you didnt get to read the holograms and even the secret one, you wouldnt get to have "The Loop" and the reason as to why the "Hex Machine" was created, explained to you.Īfter going through Noctaes holograms he explains that, with mathematics, you can predict the trajectory of a rock or the orbit of a star but, after mastering it, he said that he could also predict his own death and even every death of every life. The ending expected you to collect all 3 Owl Tokens so that you would get to go to the "Eternal Sanctuary" read all the holograms (including the secret one too) and piece the story together. It seems rushed because of the way the ending was told. It is a very deep and well thought out story. The ending may seem unsatisfying at first because it seems kind of rushed and with many holes and questions unaswered, although it wasnt.
